Temperature Rise Doors
In the event of a fire, temperature rise doors minimize the heat transfer to the non-fire side of the door. This allows people to safely pass below the floor of fire origin in a burning building.
Temperature rise ratings are 250°F, 450°F, and 650°F, indicating that the non-fire side of the door will not exceed that temperature for 30 minutes. The 250°F temperature rise designation is the most stringent rating of the three because it allows for the least transfer of heat.
As with all doors, these specialty products vary in quality from one manufacturer to the next. SDI members below are the only manufacturers that offer temperature rise doors that have been certified to meet or exceed SDI standards.
