September 11, 2013, WESTLAKE, Ohio ― The Steel Door Institute (SDI) has published a primer for architects and specifiers on fire-rated terminology, the components of a fire rated opening, and much more.
The 25-slide tutorial, available on the SDI website, covers:
- Nomenclature and Overview (important terms and requirements)
- SDI 118, the SDI standard for fire rating of steel doors and frames
- Fire Rated Frames, Doors, and Hardware
