The Steel Door Institute-sponsored course Steel: Green Now, Green Forever is now available as an online course. Professionals will earn one AIA/CES Health, Safety and Welfare/Sustainable Design (HSW/SD) hour. The online course is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

After completion, the design professional will be able to:

• Explain basic steel production, the role of recycled steel in this process, and its environmental benefits.
• Describe construction products made from recycled steel and the advantages of steel construction, including doors and frames.
• Discuss the features and applications of steel doors and frames.
• List LEED credits available when building with steel.
• Understand the International Green Construction Code (IGCC).
